Today’s photographs are all of mixed couples.
I believe that the presence of a girl can be a really great way of bringing out the best in a straight guy and thus make no apologies for including the occasional female in the photographs I post!
There’s also a certain ‘tease’ quality in each of the following images – we get the feeling that the photographers have taken their shots JUST prior to our male subjects showing a rising approval of their respective situations!

I’m not sure whether this private photo shows the girl wishing her athletic friend good luck before the race or whether this is a congratulatory hug afterwards. It’s certainly a novel setting for a photograph of a guy in competitive sportswear!

This photograph holds interest for its almost ‘double candid’ effect. Members of the crowd in the background are not only oblivious to our photographer but are curiously unaware of the scenario unfolding in the foreground. In turn, the subjects of the image are themselves seemingly too focussed on posing (for what looks to be a ‘souvenir’ photo) to notice our photographer unobtrusively capturing them.

Here is a rather charming photo of an interesting couple. I can’t work out whether the girl is measuring it, rubbing it for good luck, protecting it from the camera’s gaze or just trying to make the photographer jealous of her good fortune. It’s also nice to see that the photographer (intentionally or otherwise) managed to get the sticker on the ‘fridge into the shot!

The final photo appears to be very much ‘posed’ but the seeming look of embarrassment on our hero’s face gives an edge of realism to the image which allows for greater empathy and impact from the viewer.
